Vodafone Uganda has joined the Muslim community in celebrating the end of the Holy month of Ramadhan by donating an assortment of food stuffs worth UGX 20M towards the Eid-Al-Fitr celebrations. The items were received by Muslim leaders at Wandegeya, Kibuli, Nakasero, Old Kampala Mosques.

While handing over the items, Vodafone Uganda CEO, Mr Allan Richardson, said Vodafone Uganda gave the food items to show solidarity with Muslims in the month of Ramadhan. “We believe Ramadhan is a time to celebrate spirituality and on behalf of Vodafone I would like to congratulate each of you for successfully making it to the end of the Ramadhan period,” he added.
“Our donation to the Muslim community is part of our corporate philanthropy program through which we acknowledge communities that continue to support us to attain growth in this market. I urge you to continue using Vodafone’s reliable and quality products to solve your communication and connectivity needs,” he said.

The Holy month of Ramadhan is a fasting period for Muslims which is intended to promote self-discipline and dedication to Allah. It is expected to end on Friday 17th July pending confirmation from the Muslim leaders.
