Renowned movie translator VJ Junior, real name Marysmats Matovu, is finally out of prison.
VJ Junior was released from incarceration after he was granted bail on Thursday by Judge Jameson Karemani at Buganda road Court who said the cases against him were all not big enough to be denied bail.
He was released on a 5 Million non-cash bail, while his sureties were asked to pay 2 million non cash.
VJ Junior had been arrested by police on Tuesday evening on the orders of State Minister for Ethics and Integrity, Simon Lokodo for allegedly producing and circulating pornographic material in contravention of the Anti-Pornography Act.
He was arrested alongside his colleague Geoffrey Bbosa from their work places in the city centre and later taken to Police CIID headquarters in Kibuli where they had since been held.
They were both granted bail and will appear in court again for a hearing on June 21.
