Buikwe based side, Vipers continued their unbeaten run with a 1-0 victory over Sadolin F.C. Ibrahim Saddam Juma struck the only goal of the evening in the 9th minute of the game to keep Edward Golola’s side top of the Uganda Premier League table (UPL) with a three point advantage over rivals SC Villa and Express who are second and third respectively at 16points. Vipers are top on 19points with a game in hand.
At Ssaza grounds in Mityana, defender Musa Docca scored from a penalty spot in the 28th minute to give SC Villa a lead before Nigeria’s Victor Emenayo doubled it in the second half to restore the 16time record champions to winnings after losing 1-0 to the defending champions KCC last week on Friday at the same stadium.
Express F.C’s Emma Kalyowa and Willy Kavuma scored at the Wankulukuku stadium to throw Matia Lule’s side out of the frying pan into the fire. Express beat struggling Entebbe F.C 2-0 to push them into relegation at 5points from 8games while the ‘red eagles’ remained third at 16points.
Reigning champions, KCCA FC thrashed the ‘learners’ of Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) 3 – 0 at the Phillip Omondi stadium in Lugogo. Derrick Nsibambi was on the score board with a brace along with Tom Matisko.
Elsewhere, winless Soana put an end to Uganda Revenue Authority’s (URA) winning run when they held them to 1-1 draw at the Metah stadium in Lugazi. Cranes striker Robert Ssentongo netted for the ‘Tax collectors’ to move his tally to 7goals this season before Rashid Kyambadde leveled the score.
