Uganda Premier League (UPL) 2010 champions, Vipers reclaimed their position at the top of the league table after condemning Kiira Young to a 2-1 defeat at the Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
On the evening, Bright Haguma put Kiira Young into the lead from a penalty spot after Vipers’ Wadada Nicholas brought down Brian Nkubi in the area.
Minutes later, Uganda Kobs captain, Farouk Miya rose to the occasion with an equalizer for the guests as Kizito Keziron provided the assist.
Extra pressure from Edward Golola’s side saw their efforts yield another goal as they managed to edge Kiira 2-1 moving to top spot at the UPL table with 41 points from 17 games. Golola’s side remain unbeaten in the league.
Their rise to the top relegated SC Villa to second place on 39 points while KCCA remained third on the 16 team log after their 1-1 draw with Kawempe based side Bright Stars in Matugga.
Meanwhile, the Red Eagles of Express managed to get an impressive 3-0 away win during their visit to Soana while Simba saw off Jinja based side Bul fc with a 1-0 victory.
