Two time league champions, Vipers Sports Club pipped bottom side Maroons 1-0 on Tuesday evening to go second on the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) table.

In a game played at Luzira grounds, Uganda Cranes striker Erisa Ssekisambu scored for the visitors with just six minutes before recess. It was his lone strike that eventually became the match winner as the former SC Villa star raised his personal tally to ten league goals.

The victory sent the George ‘Best’ Nsimbe-coached side to second place with 34 points from 18 games, a match less than table leaders KCCA FC who are on 38 points while Maroons remained bottom with just 12 points.

Elsewhere, Police FC managed to arrest Bul FC by 3-2 in a game played at the Kakindu Stadium in Jinja. The result elevated Sam Timbe’s side to 5th place on the table on 32 points as the third and fourth placed Express FC and URA FC respectively. Meanwhile, Bul remained 11th on the log.
