Unbeaten side Vipers extended their lead on the Uganda Premier League (UPL) table with a convincing 2-1 victory against league debutants of Lweza at Buikwe stadium yesterday evening.
Uganda Kobs captain Farouk Miya scored a brace to guide the 2010 champions to their third consecutive win since the start of the second round in the league with the first two coming against Sadolin Paints and Kiira Young in a 1-0 and 2-1 score respectively.
Dumba Saddala (former Vipers’ midfielder) scored the consolation goal for Lweza.
The win implies that Edward Golola’s side maintained their position at the top of the table with 44 points hence a four point gap between them and second placed SC Villa who lie on 40 points. Both teams have now played the same number games (18games).
