In an unexpected development, Joel Peter Banks, the long-serving personal manager of popular Ugandan singer Vinka, is rumored to have parted ways with Swangz Avenue, one of Uganda’s leading record labels.
According to a respected source, Joel has stepped down from his role at the label after nearly eight years, though the reasons behind his departure remain undisclosed.
Swangz Avenue, located in Jinja Road’s industrial area, is a hub for some of the most successful artists in Uganda.
Joel’s exit is believed to be a strategic move, with sources hinting that he is pursuing better career opportunities outside the label.
Joel has worked closely with Swangz Avenue co-founders Benon Mugumbya and Julius Kyazze in managing several artists, most notably Vinka, who has been signed with the label since 2017.
Before transitioning to her music career, Vinka herself worked as the direct manager for fellow artist Irene Ntale for almost five years.
Its no doubt that Joel’s name will remain foundational and strong in Vinka’s life also the label’s as under him, her musical career has been endowed with endless success.
As the music industry awaits further details on Joel’s next career steps, his departure marks a significant shift for Vinka, who has thrived under his arms.
