Attacking midfielder Vincent Kayizzi has reunited with 2015/2016 Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) champions Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club (KCCA FC) for a third stint.
The 32-year-old joins the Kasasiro Boys from rival side Express Football Club where he was captain in the previous season.
Kayizzi’s first stint with the Lugogo based side was in 2003 under Coach Mike Mutebi before returning in 2006 – 2008 to help the club to win their 8th league title.
The former URA FC and Vipers SC midfielder was unveiled on Monday as Coach Mike Ray Mutebi’s third summer signing after landing left footed winger Brian Majwega and striker Geoffrey Sserunkuma in a club reunion.
“We have given so many players second chances and they have failed to use them, Kayizzi is old but he can still give you that cutting edge on the right wing,” Mutebi remarked as quoted by Kawowo.
“Players like Kayizzi, Geoffrey Sserunkuma will give us an edge on the continent because we are not going there to participate but compete,” he added.
The right footed winger also had a season long loan spell with Rwanda’s giants of APR in Kigali during the 2006/2007 season. He brings a lot of experience from which many youngsters will learn.
KCCA will represent Uganda in the CAF champions’ league next season.
