After five years of background work, the organizers of the VIGA gospel awards have announced that they are back to reward gospel talent. All Ugandan gospel artistes were invited in an all artistes meeting at Obligato last week for more details about the Awards.
At a press conference on Wednesday at Hotel Sojovalo, the organizers revealed that nominees will be announced on Good Friday at Sheraton Hotel Lions center. “We shall unveil the nominees in April” Prince Nyombi said.
Prince Nike Nyombi the man pushing the project revealed to us that the awards will take place on the 7th June 2014 at Freedom City, Entebbe road. At the event, gospel artistes will be recognized for their contribution to the Ugandan music industry and beyond.
Different categories have been revealed. Artistes will tussle it out in categories like Praise and Worship category, Inspirational song category and many others. The awards will be running under the #tag #VigaAwards2014. See you there.
