Gauhar Khan was slapped by Akil Malik and can be seen visibly traumatised shortly after the attack while she was presenting Raw Star at Film City in Mumbai.
Akil Malik, 24, was one of 2,500 people in the audience, and managed to evade 250 security guards to confront her.
He was arrested and charged with molestation after threatening and then assaulting Khan live on air.
According to Mumbai police, he said: “Being a Muslim woman, she should not have worn such a short dress.”
Although shaken by the incident, Khan returned to the set to continue presenting after an hour.
