Lil Pazo has revealed that his relationship with the National Unity Platform (NUP) has been strained since November 2023, after being excluded from the grand opening of the party’s headquarters in Makerere, Kavule.
The artist expressed disappointment over being sidelined while other musicians, such as Fik Fameica and Spice Diana, were invited to grace the event.
Speaking about the incident, Lil Pazo shared his frustration, saying, “Nothing hurt me worse than at the official opening of the NUP headquarters. They brought invitations for other artists to my salon. Spice Diana and Fik Fameica were invited, but I wasn’t. They didn’t give me a simple invitation card despite all the efforts I had made in their favor.”
The exclusion left Lil Pazo feeling alienated from the pressure group he once supported.
His disappointment has since been compounded by backlash from NUP supporters after he performed at a National Resistance Movement (NRM) event.
Critics accused him of betraying the opposition party, but the artist defended his decision, stating that he was simply trying to make a living.
“At the end of the day, I have to look for money. If NUP didn’t value me, I have to find other ways to support myself,” he explained.
