Renowned Journalist Kasuku has issued a stark warning to musicians who signed up for the SACCO funds but are now denying receipt, suggesting they could face imprisonment.
Kasuku highlighted that many musicians are now claiming they did not receive the funds, despite having signed up for them.
“Every musician who signed for the SACCO money and is denying it is most likely to be imprisoned. I saw Eddy Kenzo lamenting that some musicians received money but are now denying it,” Kasuku stated during his YouTube hosted interview.
This warning comes amid ongoing controversy surrounding the UGX 13 billion fund allocated by the government to the entertainment industry through the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) SACCO.
There has been significant dissatisfaction among musicians regarding the distribution process of these funds.
Notably, Eddy Kenzo, head of the UNMF, has been accused by some musicians of mismanaging the distribution.
Kenzo, however, has consistently pointed out that the same artists expressing disappointment are among those who have benefited from the fund.
