In a bid to recognize more gospel singers that are often times left out by most award ceremonies in Uganda, the Victoria Gospel academy awards were launched at the Emerald. The awards were last held in 2008.
“To be recognized in these awards, your music must be inspirational and motivational,” said Nicholas Nyombi, the chairman of the organizing committee of the awards.
All gospel artistes in Uganda were given a chance to be nominated in the different categories to enable voting and the eventual award ceremony.
