Robin van Persie says he is happy at Manchester United and would like to stay with the Red Devils beyond the final two years of his current contract, The Dutch international striker claimed on Thursday.
The British media have reported that Van Persie desires to leave the Red Devils in recent weeks, he does not get on with manager David Moyes earlier in the season and does have an exit clause in his contract should the club finish outside the top four.
But Speaking in a United Review ahead of the Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday the Netherlands international insists he is content at United and he will stay at Old Trafford.
“The truth is I’m very happy here,” he said. “I signed for four years and I’d be delighted to stay longer, beyond the next two years I have on my contract.”
“There is no doubt I’m learning new things and progressing with David Moyes,” he said. “The sessions we have on the training ground are fantastic and I’m learning a lot from them every day.
“There is mutual respect between us and the work environment is actually good. He really wants things to work and I want the same.”
