UTB flags off first winner of “Take on the Pearl campaign”

Dominic Tugume is the first winner of the “Take on the Pearl” campaign and has been flagged off today to Sipi falls in Kapchorwa. The trip will also see him travel some parts of Mbale. Take on the Pearl first trip has also accommodated celebrities Alex Muhangi, Natasha Sinayobya and Cleopatra Koheirwe who will be on the trip together with Dominic.

Dominic bacame winner when he got the bwat story when a random Sipi falls picture was shared and he did not only guess right the place but also had best description of why he needed the tour and also collected most engagement on comment. The proceeding winners will be selected with more or less the same creteria.

Lilly Ajarova, the Executive director Uganda Tourism Board, flagging off the ‘Take on the Pearl’ campaign at Uganda Tourism Board offices today September 18, 2020.This campaign was launched a week ago and aims at boosting Uganda’s domestic tourism sector. The campaign will run for 8- weeks but will be taking winners every week.

According to Claire Mugabi, the UTB marketing manager, the campaign is aimed to revive the country’s tourism sector through promotion of domestic tourism so as to encourage Ugandans to visit the country’s prized tourism sites.
