UTAMU & MUST to train 200 PhD students

baryaUganda Technology and Management University and Mbarara University of Science and Technology have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate in training of PhD students in areas of Science, Technology and Management.

The historical MOU was signed on the 21st of August 2013 by representatives from both universities as they chose to take the lead in Institutional Capacity Building in Uganda.

The coming together of MUST and UTAMU to pool the human resources especially at PhD level for the benefit of both universities and the region is creating a joint centre of excellence in East Africa.

This PhD programme will be coordinated by UTAMU’s Prof. Benon C Basheka, who will be deputized by Dr. Annabella Habinka Ejiri of MUST. The coordination and management of the program will be distributed across the two universities. Supervisors of the programme will be the 87 PhD holders in the concerned disciplines in both institutions.

MUST and UTAMU have a lot in common as both universities focus on Science, Technology and Management.

Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) was founded in 1989 and is currently running Certificate, Diploma, Undergraduate, Post Graduate Diploma, Masters and PhD by research programmes in all its faculties/ institutes.

Uganda Technology and Management University has positioned itself as a high quality education and research institution in technology and Management.

UTAMU independently and collaboratively offers certificate, diploma, undergraduate degree, postgraduate diploma, masters and PhD qualifications.
