Usain Bolt has reportedly said that the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow are “a bit s***” and that the Olympics “were better.”

The Jamaican 100m Olympic champion allegedly made the comments outside the athletes village after having just met the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry during their visit.

The Royal trio and the Jamaican sprint star had chatted and posed for photographs as hundreds of people gathered to catch a glimpse of the visitors.

William, Kate and Harry also played ball games with school children after meeting some of the host nation’s medal winners at Team Scotland’s accommodation.

However, the Times reports that Bolt – who is due to run in the 4x400m relay this weekend – made less than flattering remarks about the Games as he prepared to leave the village.

He reportedly said the Commonwealth Games were “a bit s***” before leaving the site to “do some business.”

A spokesman for the Commonwealth Games Federation is quoted as saying that Bolt, who is the World’s fastest man, “must just be having an off day.”

The star later attended a reception with William and Harry.

The Games have been hailed a great success by organisers after it sold 1.2 million tickets, making it the most successful sporting event Scotland has held.

David Grevemberg, chief executive of Glasgow 2014, told the Times: “We are utterly thrilled by the positive reaction Glasgow and Scotland’s Games is receiving from Commonwealth athletes.

“The passionate support of the packed crowds in the in the venues is inspiring.”
