SC Villa

Uganda Revenue Authority FC dented SC Villa’s chance of closing the gap on league leaders KCCA FC as they held them to a two-all draw in a game played on Tuesday evening at the Mehta Stadium in Lugazi.

Jimmy Kulaba scored late in the second half to cancel out Martin Kizza’s goal that had put the Jogoos in the lead and were just minutes away from a victory.

Sam Sekitto gave the Kefa Kisala-coached side a lead after only 11 minutes into the game but Ambrose Kirya struck to level matters for the visitors, ending it 1-1 at half time.

Shafik Bisaso’s side remains second on the log with 28 points, three behind leaders KCCA who travel to Jinja today to take on Sadolin Paints FC. The Tax Collectors on the other hand remain 6th on the table with 19 points.

At the military stadium in Bombo, The Saints managed to frustrate Vipers Sports Club as they held them to a one-all draw.

The game was Richard Wasswa’s first fixture in charge as interim boss following the sacking of head coach Abdallah Mubiru and his counterparts.

Ezekiel Katende scored a 19th minute strike to give the hosts a lead while striker Tony Odur equalized from 12 yards for the Venoms, 10 minutes after the one hour mark.

Vipers remain 5th on the table with 21 points while The Saints are 11th 16 points.

Elsewhere, Express Football Club returned to winning ways after nearly two and half months without a league victory as they beat hosts Soana FC in a clash at Kavumba Recreational grounds in Wakiso.

Ibrahim Saddam Juma and Noah Ssemakula scored for the Red Eagles in the first and second half respectively as they won 2-1 against a Sam Ssimbwa-coached side.

Saddam Juma put Express into the lead after 32 minutes from the penalty spot while Farouk Osama equalized for the home side at the stroke of half time to make it 1-1. Three minutes into the second half, Ssemakula restored the lead for the visitors which eventually turned out to be the match winner.

The victory elevated Express FC to 7th place on the table with 19 points while Soana remained 3rd with 23 points.
