Four time league champions Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club (URA FC) thrashed 16-time winners Sports Club Villa 3-0 in the only game played in the Azam Uganda Premier League (AUPL) on Sunday afternoon. The two sides clashed at the Tax collectors’ home at the Mehta stadium in Lugazi.
Goals from Kagaba Nicholas, Feni Ali and Kalanda Frank were enough to dent the Jogoos’ title hopes as the Kefa Kisala-coached side reclaimed a spot in top five with 43 points.
The result marked Villa’s third loss in the last five games; lost 2-0 to The Saints, 1-0 to KCCA FC before drawing 0-0 and 3-3 with arch rivals Express FC and Soana respectively, then lost 3-0 to URA FC.
It is this streak of poor results that has left the Jogoos’ president Eng. Immanuel Ben Misagga very unhappy and rumors suggest that he could suspend some players who are suspected of match fixing.
Ibrahim Kiirya’s side return to action tomorrow when they travel to Police FC in Kavumba before hosting Sadolin Paints on Friday.
