The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has awarded Huawei Uganda for business excellence and economy building by its raised quality of products and services through implementation of ISO 9001.
Huawei is among the companies certified for the ISO 9001 which was started by UNBS to enable organisations meet the requirements of the standards of their customers and enhance their satisfaction.
The awards ceremony that recognized ISO 9001 certified organisations took place at Serena Hotel Kampala on Thursday 10 th , November was presided over by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uganda who was represented by Hon. Amelia Kyambadde the Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives. Hon. Amelia Kyambadde commended the Uganda National Bureau of Standards for its work in checking the standard of goods in Uganda and pledged continuous government support.
“Government will support UNBS through capacity building to do its work of checking the standard goods on the market. We shall do this in order to enhance productivity and to ensure we participate in the global trade,” said Hon. Kyambadde Amelia.

This is a very big achievement for your business growth and competitiveness. I strongly believe that this achievement will bring considerable value to your business,” she added.
Mr. Stanley Chyn, the Managing Director Huawei Uganda on certification, “Quality culture need to be built by all the organisations together. Getting certification means you have standard products and services which bring more customers and bigger revenue for you. So we encourage other organisations to apply for the certification, congratulations to other awarded companies upon this achievement.”
