Uganda’s tourism sector grew by a stunning 47.6% in 2015, compared to 5.2% economic growth.
The country is once again becoming a popular safari destination, finally recovering from decades of violence and political turmoil.
Scowsill said the country has improved its marketing strategy, touting its wildlife tourism — including popular gorilla treks.
However, the country’s growth in tourism looks particularly strong because of the relatively low number of visitors. “They’re coming off a low low base,” Scowsill said.
