Uganda’s Premier League Baddies: The Top Ten List

Uganda in the most recent years has produced world-class baddies. These are babes that have gone on to represent the country on the global stage. In other words, they have waved the Ugandan flag across Africa, across the continents. But who are these babes?

It’s not Sheilah Gashumba. She’s failed to make it onto the continental stage. There was a cooking show in South Africa that she was not able to host. Of late, Sheilah had to show up once again on Kasuku’s podium to regain some masanyalaze. Apparentely, Sheilah has decided to concentrate on the local market. The kikono on the global market is big. Yet, here, she can focus on serving this bottom of the pyramid and leave the other baddies in the premium market.

It is said, to break through onto the continental stage, one has to use either the South African Route, somewhere in Capetown or Pretoria or make it all the way to Lagos. The last fair option is a stint in Nairobi. Without making it onto those stages, one is bound to be a local baddie. But let’s get into the list.

  1. Gold Viv (Vivian Gold Kaitetsi)

Now Gold Viv used to be your girl right here on the streets of Kampala. The kind you could bump into on a Friday Fundas. But she soon realized that the Kampala economy is still small, and it requires lots of fighting. She chose to find her way into Don Jazzy’s camp. And has not looked back. Now, she’s at global stage. Being close to Don Jazzy means she’s also in touch with many other Naija celebrities. And she’s gotten her brand equity up there. Things that Sheilah Gash must be dreaming about.

    2. Eva Apio

Eva Apio was mostly common on the modelling runway. And that’s how Asake spotted our Ugandan doll. And he couldn’t imagine any second without Apio by her side. It’s said that Eva Apio is now a truly certified Ugandan Premier league baddie. Once you’ve dated Asake, the only way next is upwards. Everyone will be yearning to see what’s in this Asake beer.

    3. Zari aka Shakib’s juice

Zari has done her best to keep up on the stage. Despite having age playing against her, she’s the one Ugandan baddie that has kept her equity consistently. She recently had some scare from the tax authorities, but all this works in favour of a baddie. Good or bad news. It’s said that Zari is the one that sold Diamond Platinum to the world. They both needed each other at the time. And they both gave themselves masanyalaze. Anti even the celebrity stage requires collaborations. You find someone with masanyalaze and you share the yaka.

Worth mentioning are those that are still trying to break through. The likes of Katrina Nilzero. Of course, she may never break through past Mezo Noir and the streets of Kyanja. But it’s worth noting that she’s trying to climb those stairs. And who knows, even Sheilah Gashumba may finally make it.
