Rising Ugandan music star Elijah Kitaka has voiced his concerns about the state of the local music industry, urging fellow artists to take their work more seriously.

Speaking during a recent interview, Kitaka stated, “Our music industry is infested with mediocrity. Let’s stop that and get down to do what is expected of us.”
Kitaka, known for his hit song Dawa, is one of the top newcomer artists of 2024 and has gained a strong fan base, especially among the youth.

His statement has sparked debate among fans and fellow musicians, with some agreeing that the industry needs more professionalism and focus.
Kitaka emphasized the importance of quality music, discipline, and hard work.
He believes that while humor has its place in entertainment, it should not overshadow the real purpose of music—artistry, expression, and impact.

Many Ugandan artists have recently used comedy or exaggerated drama to gain attention online. Kitaka’s comments seem to challenge this trend, calling on musicians to focus more on talent and meaningful content.
The young star continues to inspire fans with his strong vocals and unique style.
His message may be a wake-up call to other artists who want to be taken seriously in the fast-growing Ugandan music scene.
