Renowned folk music artiste and Kora maestro Joel Sebunjo will yet again carry the Ugandan flag at the 8th edition of Festival of Urban Music Anoumabo (FEMUA) that will take place in Ivory Coast later this year.
Initiated by Salif Traoré in 2008, this festival gathers world-known artists over a period of three days. This year’s edition will host several celebrated artistes on the African continent like DRC’s Fally Ipupa, South Africa’s Freshly Ground, and Nigeria’s Bracket among others.
While providing joy to thousands of people, the festival also aims to construct and rehabilitate the basic infrastructures in the areas of education and health for disadvantaged people in Ivory Coast.
Speaking about the festival Joel Sebunjo said, “Soon I will be jetting into Abidjan – Ivory Coast to headline a music festival alongside other African Stars like …Fally Ipupa (DRC) , Habib Koite (Mali), Bracket (Nigeria), Smarty (Burkina Faso), Freshly Ground (South Africa), Zaho (Algeria).”
The festival is slated for April 21st to 26th this year.
