Uganda’s Ivan Bukenya has joined Indian side Kingfisher East Bengal Football Club after almost half a year without competitive football.
The former Erbil FC and Kaizer Chiefs towering defender is said to have signed a six month contract with the new side ahead of the I-League return that kicks off in January 2017.
“We are pleased to announce the signing of Ugandan International defender Ivan Bukenya for our next I-League campaign,” reads part of a confirmation statement posted to the club’s official website.
Bukenya has been training with Azam Uganda Premier League side Proline FC (his childhood team) since exiting the Kaizer Chiefs camp along with his national counterpart Sula Matovu.
