Sakata Mashariki finally came to an end yesterday as The Band from Kenya were crowned this season’s winners beating Ugandan’s dance crew the Invinciblez Dance Unit (IDU) that came in second position.
The popular dance competition show that has been airing on Kenya’s Citizen TV and Uganda’s Urban TV was seeking to find the best dance crew in East Africa by pitting different teams from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania against each other.
It was a tough battle for Uganda’s Invinciblez Dance Unit (IDU) group comprising of five boys from Kasese as they made it to the finals staging one of the coolest performances of the night battling it out with The Band from Kenya. They were the only hope for Uganda to be the first to win Sakata dance competitions in Kenya, even though they lost, they still remained the best dance group here at home.
The Band from Kenya were crowned the winners as they walked with Kshs 1 Million cash prize while IDU received a cash prize of Kshs 300,000. This year’s judges were Wyre, Ian and Joan but were joined by a guest judge from the previous seasons.
