Uganda’s Under-20 national football team, the Hippos safely returned home on Sunday evening after their weekend duel with the Junior Wasps of Rwanda.

The tie was the first leg of the first round of the CAF Africa U-20 qualifiers in Kigali, Rwanda that ended in a one-all draw on Saturday.

The team returned by road aboard Trinity bus yesterday.

“We traveled well to and from Rwanda and we got a vital result. It is half time played but I also want to commend my group for exhibiting good discipline in the entire process,” Agnes Mugena, the leader of Delegation told the federation’s website.

The two sides will meet again on 23rd April, 2016 at Namboole Stadium for the return leg with Uganda seeking only a victory to advance to the next stage of the competition.

The aggregate winner after both legs will then face off with Egypt at the next stage of the qualification campaign.
