Uganda’s arguably biggest deejay competition has been launched.
Dubbed the “UG Mix Maestro,” it was launched at an out-of-town treat on Tuesday that was graced by media personalities and social influencers among others where they were given a feel of what to expect when the search for the next big deejay finally commences.
Organised by DJ Association of Uganda in conjunction with Uganda Waragi, the UG Mix Maestro seeks to celebrate and put the spotlight on local deejays.
According to Roy Tumwizere, the UBL National Promotions Manager, they will traverse the whole country in search for the next biggest deejay.
“UG Mix Maestro is going to be a search for the hottest deejays,” he revealed. “We will go through out the country and get the best deejays in each region.”
The regional winners will then battle it out for the title of best deejay in Uganda. The deejay competition will culminate in a DJ Award ceremony where outstanding deejays in the country will be recognised.
Meanwhile, the UG Mix Maestro is more than just a deejay competition. It promises a lot of fun and will see consumers enjoy free parties at over 100 bars every week with music mixes from top deejays across the country courtesy of Uganda Waragi.
