Ugandans sing praises for Cheptegei, Kiplimo and Chelimo after edging to the finals

It’s enormous joy in Uganda as three of its male athletes booking places in the Men’s 5000 Meters final race at the 2020 Olympics happening in Tokyo, Japan.

  • Jocob Kiplimo and Joshua Cheptegei

In the men’s 5000m Heat 2 tie, Jacob Kiplimo finished 4th after posting 13.30.40 whereas Joshua Cheptegei posted a time of 13.30.61 in position 5.

Prior to their race, Oscar Chelimo had finished 4th in the Men’s 5000m Heat 1 after he clocked 13:39.07.

This means that all three have qualified for the 5000m final scheduled for Friday, August 6, 2021.

Fellow netizens continue to rush on social media with congratulatory messages for Joshua Cheptegei, Jacob Kiplimo, and Oscar Chelimo.
