UK based Ugandan maestro singer Myco Chris is all smiles after being recognized by awards in London that recognise excellent works in gospel art. The African gospel Music and Media awards will on 1st June recognise Myco Chris among other people with an award categorised as LEVITES Award for his contribution to gospel music in Africa and London where he resides.The award comes as a big boost for the Ugandan singer who is in preparations for his debut concert at Serena on the Friday of 2nd August.
Myco is a London based Ugandan singer who began singing 25 years ago at St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe at the age of 9. At the age of 13, he broke out of the choir into secular music, mainstream music under Shanks ViviDee. He joined a group called “Xtra Grim” which consisted of Chagga, Rutty Martin, Omwana Isaacs. Shanks was the overseer of the group what many would refer at as the manager. Shanks was also the lead role-model on music at that time.
