Ugandan producer Daddy Andre scores Coke Studio Africa deal

Having delivered Uganda’s biggest song of 2018, ‘’You and Me’’ with Lydia Jazmine, Daddy Andre is set to make his maiden stint on Coke Studio Africa. He is the force behind some of Uganda’s genre-defying smash hits like ‘’Weekend’’ by Sheebah featuring Runtown, Bebe Cool’s ‘’Tombawala’’, ‘’Biri Biri’’ by King Saha, ‘’Nkwatako’’ by Sheebah featuring Skales, among others.

On the upcoming season he will work on productions for: King Saha (Uganda) and Yared Negu (Ethiopia) and Lourena Nhate (Mozambique) Abush Zeleke (Ethiopia).

For the 2019 season of Coke Studio Africa, the Pan African music collaborative show has selected a cross-section of leading African music producers who continue to set trends and pioneer new sounds and emerging genres on the African music.

Top Ugandan producer Daddy Andre will join the Super 8 producers tasked with engineering music fusions and collaborations from all the African stars on the show. These will include two of Nigeria’s acclaimed music producers: GospelOnDaBeatz and Krizbeatz, Tanzania’s biggest music producer Lizer, Kenyan hitmaker Majic Mike, fast rising Kenyan producer – singer Viola Karuri, renowned Ethiopian music producer, songwriter and DJ Rophnan and the high-flying young Zimbabwean music producer Young DLC as well as 22 year-old rising Kenyan producer, Mutoria.

“It is an honor to collaborate at a Pan African level with the best of the best that Africa has to offer. I begun producing at a young age and learning from the work of successful producers and I am grateful that Coca-Cola has chosen me to represent Uganda this year,” commented Daddy Andre during his session at the studio in Nairobi.

Bebe Cool, Chameleone face off amidst rift

With the recent jibes between Bebe Cool and Chameleone, two of Uganda’s top singers, the pair is set to share stage tomorrow at Lugogo Cricket Oval. While their fans would imagine the two singers not coming face to face, they will be doing that sooner than they expected.

Both Chameleone and Bebe Cool have confirmed performing at the Alex Muhangi show that will be headlined by Nigerian singer Rude Boy.

After doing a song with Bebe Cool, Nigerian singer Rude Boy who is in Uganda has also expressrd interest in doing a song with Weasel, late Radio’s singing half.

“I called Weasel myself and asked him we do a song together. I anticipate you will love the song” Rude Boy said.

Rude Boy of the former PSquare duo landed in Uganda for his show this Friday. He addressed media this afternoon and also expressrd his admiration for some Ugandan artistes.

Rude Boy at the media press told journalists he admires Ugandan singers Bebe Cool and Cindy. While he has done a collabo with Bebe Cool he also stated he had great admiration for him as an artistes. “Our video will be out soon and am excited” he stated.

“The late Radio will always be missed and I will sing Nakudata in tribute” he finished.

I am singing my soul out this Friday – Rude Boy promises ahead of concert

Nigerian singer Paul Okoye landed into the country this morning and has addressed media this afternoon. In his statement, he has promised to take Ugandans through his old and new songs at his concert at Lugogo Cricket Oval this Friday.

“I am performing both my old and new songs. I will perform even those that I did in that duo but most important am also performing those I have done alone” he said.

Rude Boy will perform at Lugogo cricket oval and entrance will be ugx 25,000, ugx 50,000 VIP and ugx 1,000,000 for tables.
