After spin master Deejay Paul Ting Dic scooped an award in South Africa as the best entertaining DJ in Durban, he has advised fellow deejays who go abroad to play old local music.
DJ Paul who was arrested and detained for several months in Dubai recently, before returning to Uganda and later moving to South Africa seems to have everything working out for him now. He’s making dimes and so proud that he left that crazy country that had put his life on rampage. He therefore advised fellow DJs that are intending to follow in his steps to always play old local music for people in the diaspora.
He said that most people out their take many years without coming back to Uganda and therefore have no idea about the new musicians therefore want old music. He said that people in the diaspora go crazy when he plays music from the likes of Chameleone, Bebe Cool, Bobi Wine, Ragga Dee, Haruna Mubiru, Stecia Mayanja, Ronald Mayinja among others.
“If u gonna b international and b going overseas to play for a Ug community, one thing u shd learn, Don’t bring that nonsense of playing hit music or new music, bano abantu bakowu pple have spent more than 6yrs never stepped afoot in Uganda bagala nyimba za band nze kati am NW rocking SA state by state coz of that,” Dj Paul Ting Dic posted
