Preparations are underway for the 6th Uganda Vintage and classical Auto show scheduled to take place on 29th July at the Sheraton Gardens. This is a competition of beauty, preservation and history of cars and motorcycles in Uganda.

Under the theme Vintage is Elegance, the event has attracted 8 entries from Nairobi this year. All cars will be reviewed by a panel of 4 judges, 2 international and 2 local judges. Competing cars must be 25 years and above.

This year Sheraton Kampala Hotel’s sponsorship package is valued at 50M UGX and this includes provision of various hotel products & services either on a subsidized or complimentary basis. It will also be providing an open air BBQ in the gardens with something for everyone.

Speaking at the launch of the Vintage Car Show, the head of sales and marketing Michele Magrone noted that the show exemplifies Sheraton’s continued sense of service in the time honoured traditions of customer service all delivered in a contemporary setting.

“We at Sheraton Kampala feel a kinship with the Vintage Car Show because of its respect for tradition – This Year the Hotel is celebrating 50 years and part of the celebrations are through this event that celebrates heritage and the need to maintain some of our historical artefacts,” Magrone said.

In a lead up to the event, there are a number of activities to spice up the show, these include a lubricant workshop and a Vintage party hosted by the Sheraton Kampala Hotel at the Equator bar.
