Uganda Tourism Board, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife & Antiquities and other private stakeholders, has launched a new campaign aimed at driving domestic tourism during this festive season through word of mouth marketing by Ugandan travelers. The new campaign dubbed “Tulambule Uganda this Festive Season” was unveiled during a ceremony held at Ndere Cultural Centre on Tuesday.

According Claire Mugabe, the Marketing Manager Uganda Tourism Board, there will be several promotional offers to enjoy during the festive season so as to make the undertakings more attractive and affordable for Ugandans. The campaign will also involve a digital aspect where Ugandans will be rewarded for sharing their experiences touring Uganda online.

“We want people to tour Uganda and then share their story,” Clare Mugabe said. “We shall be rewarding people who tell the best story on our Facebook platform, Tulambule Uganda, based on the creativity and uniqueness of their experience.”

Speaking at the launch, Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities Godfrey Ssubi Kiwanda noted that the best way to market Uganda as the ideal tourism destination is through bringing Ugandans themselves onboard to know more about their country and share stories about it.

“The best way to market Uganda is first to get Ugandans on board to know about their country, and it is good that we are using this festive season to expose this country’s touristic attractions to the Ugandans themselves.” Hon. Kiwanda remarked, adding that, “we want to market Uganda in four segments; first to Ugandans themselves, then to the East African community, from there to Africa and then finally the rest of the world.”

He concluded by calling upon all Ugandans to use the opportunity this festive season to travel, share their experiences and get rewarded for it.

Prizes to be won include adventure, dining & cultural experiences, and family packages among others.
