Uganda is set to take on Rwanda again in the return leg of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

The Uganda cranes who now have the home advantage will be hoping to repeat their first-leg triumph when they face Rwanda Amavubi Stars at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende this Sunday, 10th October.

Uganda’s Israel based striker Azizi Fahad Bayo scored the lone goal that gave Uganda victory in the first leg which was played at the Stade De Kigali, Nyamirambo on Thursday.

The Cranes head into the game second to Mali on the Group E standings after collecting five points from three matches while Amavubi are last after managing just one draw from their last three matches.

Uganda kicked off their campaign to reach Qatar with a 0-0 draw against Kenya in Nairobi, picked a 1-1 draw against Mali in Kampala and then defeated Rwanda 1-0 in Kigali. On the other hand, Rwanda also suffered another 1-0 defeat against Mali in their opener in Morocco before drawing 1-1  against Kenya in Kigali.

Commenting about the upcoming game, Henry Njoroge from Airtel Uganda, who are the official Sponsor of the Cranes, said, “We call upon all Ugandans and football fans to rally behind the players, show your support and together let’s bring the world cup dream closer home. We have a special product called the Cranes offer which we open up to all Airtel customers each time the Uganda Cranes have a game. For Just 2000/= enjoy 300MB and 20mins to share highlights, talk about the game, send good wishes to the players and so on.”

The game will air live on UBC TV starting at 4pm.
