By James Robert Kayindi

According to the latest Coca Cola FIFA World rankings, Uganda has continued to rise, though this time it was just by one place. Uganda rose to 71st in the April FIFA rankings from being the 72nd as of March.

The spot on the globe rankings kept Uganda top of the CECAFA region as well as above some other big nations. According to the standing, Rwanda comes second to Uganda in the CECAFA region in 73rd spot and the rest follow as highlighted; Ethiopia (101), Tanzania (107), Sudan (111), Kenya (117), Burundi (122), South Sudan (193), Eritrea (204), Somalia (206), Djibouti (207)

The Cranes stand behind Norway who are 70th in the ranking and above Uzbekistan. The 2014 world cup champions Germany however kept their top spot on the stand.

Here is how Uganda ranks in comparison to its opponents ahead of the 2017 AFCON campaign: Burkina Fasso (66), UG (71), Botswana (104), Comoros (185).
