From acquiring a new yacht to his ‘Semakokilo’ plaza reaching its final stages of completion, musician Bobi Wine seemed to be enjoying a great start to the year until URA came calling.
The “Dembe” singer has been ‘slapped’ with a Ugx 54 million demand notice by the tax regulatory body, which is said to have accumulated over time due to non-payment of income tax since 2008.
A source in URA revealed that several demand notices have previously been sent to the singer but they seem to have been falling on deaf ears.
However, the source added that this time round, if Bobi doesn’t respond positively, the body will be forced to add interest on the demanded amount.
We will keep you posted
