Uganda Refinery Holding Company hires first ever General Manager

nkamboThe Uganda Refinery Holding Company Limited (URHC) has recruited of its first General Manager. URHC has recruited Dr. Michael Nkambo Mugerwa, a Chemical Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the oil refining industry, as its pioneer General Manager.

Dr. Michael Nkambo has vast experience in process engineering, project management, project controls, risk management and oil refinery technologies, among others. He has managed Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) aspects of large capital refining projects while working for TECHNIP (USA), a leading EPC contractor for the oil, gas and petrochemical industries.

He will be tasked with leading the structuring and development of the first oil refinery in Uganda.

He has built competencies in technology, business and innovation and has experience in start-ups in the oil and gas sector. The URHC will benefit from his leadership, international network and strong technical and project management skills.

Dr. Michael Nkambo holds a PhD, Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering all obtained from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom.
