Through the Chief Executive Officer Bernard Bainamani, the Uganda Premier League board has made some changes in the league fixtures that will see the league come to an end much earlier than previously scheduled.
The league that was due to end on the 29th May 2015 will now end 10 days earlier (19th May, 2015) according to the new modifications.
The development comes in a bid to create more time for the Under-23 national team (The Kobs) who will need ample time to prepare for their Olympics qualifier against Rwanda without affecting the league.
“The FUFA Competitions Committee has advised the league management on the preparations of the U-23 Olympic Qualifiers beginning with an Away match on the 22-24 May 2015 in Rwanda and the Return leg at Home between 29-31 May 2015,” read part of the official communication.
“The Secretariat with prior notice has made adjustments to the fixtures so as to ensure no repeat of any likely interruptions of the match day games to the season’s end.”
Many fixtures have been brought forward to in a bid to effect these changes starting tomorrow going forward.
