The latest Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) rankings show that Uganda Cranes has maintained it’s 71st position for the month of May.
Uganda remains 71st out of the 209 member nations that are affiliated to FIFA, according to the rankings released yesterday at the body’s headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.
Uganda rose from being 72nd in the month of March to become 71st in April and topping the CECAFA log in the process. Despite remaining in the same position, the Cranes managed to raise their point-count to 504points from 485points.
CECAFA Region: Uganda tops the summit (71st), Rwanda are second (94th), Ethiopia (99th), Sudan (108th), Kenya (123rd), Tanzania (127th), Burundi (134th), South Sudan (197th), Eritrea (204th), Somalia (206th) and Djibouti (207th).
Uganda’s Group D opponents in the 2017 AFCON Qualifiers: Burkina Faso is the only nation above Uganda in 66th place. Botswana is ranked at 111th and Comoros is 190th.
The 2014 World Cup champions Germany remained top of the world while Belgium come second and Argentina are third.
