Devastating news reveal the passing of entertainer Omugeye Moses Kawooya. He was aged 65 at the time of his death.

The renowned Ssanyu African Music and Dramatic Society (SAMADS) dancer who used to dance at President Museveni’s functions and other public events was in October reported to be in a worrying health state.

Moses Kawooya gained popularity for his impressive dance strokes and the way he stirred his belly to move crowds at events he often performed.

Kawooya who was living in Kyengera – Mugongo in Wakiso district, has been living a hell life since the COVID pandemic — he was a taxi driver before the pandemic and unfortunately the taxi broke down  during the same period and he couldn’t source funds to get it sorted.

Apart from this, Kawooya has been battling different illnesses and the most painful one for him was when he developed a toothache.

He sought treatment at a hospital but unfortunately the medical personnel who worked on him left him with a damaged tooth vein that ruined his left jaw and this later developed a painstaking headache that caused him to get paralyzed on his left part of the head.

Life got tougher when he got a swelling around his neck and this treatment took every penny from him and when he reached out to officials in NRM and President Museveni, his pleas fell on deaf ears.

Kawooya was pronounced dead on Thursday night.
