Uganda Kobs booked themselves a date with Egypt at the next qualification stage of the Africa U-23 finals after seeing off Rwanda on a 4-1 aggregate having condemned the visitors to a 2-0 defeat at Nakivubo stadium, Kampala on Saturday afternoon.

The Kobs returned onto the pitch after a virgin first half to score twice in the second half sinking the Rwandans who had already lost the first leg in Kigali a week ago by 2-1.

Express’ John Ssemanzi and Vipers’ Farouk Miya were right on spot in the second half as they netted for Uganda.

Uganda dominated play in both halves with Farouk Miya hitting the woodwork in the opening minute of the game in front of a rattling crowd.

Two quick second half substitutes in the names of Yunus Sentamu (CS Safien striker) and Muzamiru Mutyaba who replaced Hassan Muhammed and Kezironi Kizito respectively paid off with a quick change of the game.

Sentamu created the first assist that Ssemanzi put into the back of the net but insult was added to injury on Rwanda’s side as Uganda celebrated their second of the day 75 seconds later.

Uganda now progress to face off with Egypt at the next stage of the competition in the struggle for a slot at the Africa-U23 finals in Senegal due December 2015.
