The Uganda women’s national football team u-20 humiliated their south Sudanese counterparts 9-0 in the 2014 world cup qualifiers which were at the juba national stadium.
The south Sudanese team featured in the tournament for their first time and they therefore had two shots tried in Uganda’s goal. The Ugandan team took the lead in the early minutes of the game through followed by Viola Nambi, hittting again in the 12 and 43 minutes respectively.
The latest independent side’s players tried to fight back but the Ugandan players kept them at bay with Uganda putting the ball at the back of the net four times in the second half.
The averagely attended match at the Juba national stadium saw Uganda move closer to qualifying for the u-20 women world cup to be played in Canada next year.
The second leg with the south Sudanese team will be played in Kampala towards the end of this month and the hosts will be hoping to replicate the tactics they exhibited to the Juba teams when the two teams face off.
Bigeye.Ug team is glad to reveal the u-20 line up that managed to raise the Ugandan flag high in south Sudan. Ruth Aturo, Stella Nassuuna, Tracy Jones Akior, Jeninga Awadifo, Zainah Namukasa, Dorothy Nakato, Naume Nagadya, Ritah Kivumbi, Sylvia Nakazibwe, Viola Nambi, Hasfa Nassuuna.
