As the third round of the Africa Nations Youth Championship qualifiers draws closer, the Uganda Cubs have also stepped up their preparations for the campaign. The young lads went into camp on Monday and trained at the Nakivubo stadium before setting off to Njeru Techinal centre where they will be camping for the rest of the days until when they will be setting off the first leg away tie in Zambia.
Head coach, Matia Lule summoned 27 players who are supposed to be in camp for the preparations however only 22 attended the first training sessions on Monday morning at Nakivubo. “Some boys missed out because they are still with their respective schools while others had some minor knocks”, the cubs media officer, Emma Nduga explained.
Players like Kipper Luwalo, Kasibante Edward and Andrew Okiring lsiagi are yet to join the camp. Team Captain Andrew Okiring Isiagi is caught up with studies in the US but we expect him any time’ Nsubuga Herbert the team manager told the media. The team has however been dealt a blow with skipper Mukalazi Musa getting injured.
