Uganda Cubs squad and team officials named

After changing the particular date for the second leg between Rwanda Wasps and Uganda Cubs from Saturday 3rd to Friday 2nd August 2014, the squad and team officials that will be heading to Rwanda have been named. Yesterday news came in stating Rwanda’s shift of the game from the Amahoro stadium in Kigali to the Umuganda stadium in Rubavu District which is about 130km from the capital (Kigali).

Rwanda have claimed that this was done to leave the Stadium (Amahoro) free for other national team activities that are also set for the same weekend however some Ugandan officials argued that this was just an attempt to undermine the team’s (Uganda Cubs) strength by making them tired before the game can be played after suffering a massive defeat of 4-0 in the first leg at Namboole in Kampala. It’s been further said the Uganda’s football governing body FUFA (Federation of Uganda Football Association) raised its concerns to CAF over these changes, however CAF advised that the two football governing bodies of the different countries should sit down and come to an agreement.

Players:

Eric Kibowa and Edward Kasibante (Goal Keepers), Andrew Isiagi Okiring (Captain), Alex Komakech, Samuel Kato Nemeyimana, Bashir Asiku, Emmanuel Olinga (Vice Captain), Hassan Ssenyonjo, Frank Zaga Tumwesigye, Muhammed Shaban, Charles Sebutinde, Pius Obuya, Joel Jangeyemabe, Diego Katumba, Asraph Mugume, Ezra Bidda, Musa Mukalazi, and Julius Poloto.
