The Uganda National Cricket team was flagged off yesterday and will be departing for South Africa today ahead of the ICC World Cricket League Division Two. The team will camp in South Africa, Cape Town for about nine days according to the Uganda cricket association website.
As part of their final preparations during the 9 days’ camp, the team will engage in about three or four buildup fixtures against the Western province XI and Western province academy among others before embarking on a journey that will see them head to Windhoek, Namibia where the World Cricket League Division Two campaign is set to be played.
Just like the Africa cup of nations, the campaign will kick-off on the 17th and go on until 24th January, 2015. Uganda will need to fight for the top four slots if they are to play at a more advanced stage after division two.
The hosts, Namibia are to home waiting for Kenya, Uganda, Canada, Nepal and Netherlands to challenge for slots that will see them play at the 2015-2017 ICC Intercontinental Cup and 2015-2017 ICC WCL Championship for the top two sides.
