Uganda Cranes suffered defeat in yesterday’s late evening tie against Ghana’s neighbours Niger. The Cranes were beaten 2-0 in a build-up match played in Niamey yesterday evening in a game where team captain Andy Mwesigwa got a red card.
Cranes who looked so poor in the first section of the game conceded two goals in a space of eight minutes. Head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic watched his boys concede the first goal as early as 10 minutes into the game when Kamilou Daouda’s long range shot caught goalkeeper Robert Odongkara off guard for the hosts to take the early lead.
In the 18th minute of the game, Issiakou Koudizéin sunk the Uganda Cranes as he extended Niger’s lead when he netted the second goal of the day.
Both coaches used the match to fine tune their players ahead of this weekend’s 2015 Nations cup qualifiers in which the Cranes will be playing Ghana while Niger will be up against Cape Verde.
