Uganda Cranes striker and former KCCA FC star Brian Umony is in great pain after suffering a broken leg. Umony broke his leg on Sunday as his side St. George entertained Abramach F.C in the Ethiopian premier league after he collided with the opponent’s goalkeeper as they struggled for the ball.

The injury is expected to keep him out of action for quite some time (close to eight months for fully recovery), something that will have a negative impact to the national team, the Uganda Cranes.

The Cranes will next month resume the 2017 ACON qualification campaign while the 2018 World cup qualifiers are also around the corner.

The striker scored in Uganda’s 2-0 home victory against Botswana in the 2017 qualification campaign opener for the Cranes.

Before moving to Ethiopia, Umony featured for Naguru Boys, Super Sport, Portland Timbers and 10-time leg champions KCCA FC.
