Abel Dhaira

Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Abel Dhaira who passed on Sunday evening could return home in ashes. This follows reports from his former club in Iceland indicating that they don’t have the funds to transport his body back to Uganda.

We have learnt that his former club in Iceland, IBV Vestmannaeyjar, claim to be too broke and can only afford to return the remains of the 28-year-old football star bottled in a container as ashes.

According to media reports, Dhaira succumbed to abdominal cancer in Iceland where he was undergoing treatment and plied his trade. He played professional football at IBV Vestmannaeyjar.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased has stared soliciting for funds to have the body of the late transported back home in one piece.
