Uganda Cranes and Ugandans at large are in deep sorrow and nursing wounds after the loss of a 1-0 match in favor of the Senegalese Lions in the pre-entry battle to the world cup in Brazil.
After a long and selfless training in preparation for the Match against Senegal a ten man Uganda Cranes bowed out of contention for a berth at the 2014 World Cup finals in Brazil after losing 1-0 at the hands of Senegal’s Lions in Teranga.
The Cranes who needed an outright win to top group J and advance to the play offs found themselves on the losing end. Thanks to Sadio Mane’s one-man strike with six minutes left on the clock. The visitors had to finish the game with ten men after “Jaaja” Godfrey Walusimbi was Red carded for a poor tackle on Senegal’s Alfred Ndiaye.
This has been confirmed as a heartfelt loss of the year for Ugandans including those who have lost huge sums in sports betting.
The only consolation can be the Wednesday win in an international friendly match where the cranes hammered Bostwana Zebras 3-1.
Then the recent Motor Mouth Golola Moses of Uganda Win against Tugume and the Celebrated athletics Stephen Kiprotich who has scooped 2 gold medals for Uganda within a span of 2 years. We can still see the light at the end of the tunnel.
